Optimizing shop operations includes right-sizing staff levels as well as ensuring their safety, proper training to meet the demands of evolving technology, and appropriate compensation. As a component of right sized staffing, some aspects of maintenance activities can and should be outsourced. The decision to outsource activities depends on numerous factors, but ultimately is determined by what is most effective and efficient.

Ray has spent the last 10 years contributing to NAFA’s educational programs and was presented the distinguished Excellence in Education award in 2018.
